“Every 2 seconds someone in this nation needs blood.  The time it takes for a single donation could mean a lifetime to a patient in need.”

Approximately 38,000 pints of blood are needed in the US every day, in hospitals and emergency facilities all over our country. Nothing can replace human blood, and if an individual lost too much blood and cannot produce enough, they rely on volunteers. One pint of blood can save up to three lives.

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) came to North Scott High School last Tuesday for a student blood drive.  The goal was to donate 150 pints, and thanks to Key Club members and their recruits, we managed to supply 147 pints of blood for the MVRBC.  This results in 441 lives saved!  Great job North Scott and thank you to everyone who donated.
