Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to teach a lesson.
Every year Mr. Merrick’s Physics and Conceptual Physics classes compete in the “All American Egg Drop”. This is a test of the student’s knowledge on momentum and impulse.
Competitors build a devise with five sheets of computer paper, a meter of masking tape, and one egg. The object is to find a way to make your egg survive a one to five story fall. The following are the results from the conceptual physics egg drop:
The winners managed to drop his or her eggs four stories before breaking (and that’s no yolk):
Whitney VanPelt, Chelsea Carrol, Shelby Lindaman, and Emily Frederichsen.
Other winners include, but are not limited to: Andrew Oberlander and Jeordon Keeney.
