Benefit for Caitlin Efstathiou
by Aislinn Martin
This Saturday, October 10 from 5 to 9 pm, there will be a benefit held for Caitlin Efstathiou in the commons. Admission to the benefit is $5, and donations will be accepted. All of the money collected will go to the Efstathiou family. The benefit will consist of a taco dinner, raffle, and musical entertainment.
Caitlin, a sophomore here at North Scott, was severely injured in a car accident on September 13. She is currently undergoing treatment at the Iowa City Hospital. The benefit will raise money to support Caitlin and her family during this time of great need.
Even if you do not know Caitlin, attending the benefit should be added to your weekend schedule. For the small price of $5, you can help someone recover from an accident that could have easily happened to you or anyone you know. Plus, adds Kasey Denison (sophomore), a friend of Caitlin’s, you will “miss out on a great night” by not attending the benefit and that even if “you don’t know her personally doesn’t mean that her story…won’t touch you in some way.”
Some come out on Saturday and support a fellow Lancer on her journey of recovery.
