Rollinger Makes University of Iowa Dance and Drill Team

After a weekend full of auditions and anxiety, Senior McKenna Rollinger was selected to be a member of the University of Iowa Dance and Drill Team.

Numerous dancers attended the auditions on Friday, but only 25 made the cut after Saturday; then on Sunday the number dwindled to only 18-and McKenna was one of them. In fact, there were really only 8 new spots available because 10 of the dancers were returning team members.

Like many other sports, there is no off-season for the dance and drill team. They start practice right away this summer, and McKenna even has to miss graduation because off a team commitment.

So now, as North Scott students and alumni head up to Iowa City to watch the Hawkeyes, be sure to look for one of our own, McKenna Rollinger, out on the field entertaining the crowd during halftime.
